Seeking tech help from Bowers & Wilkins, I was advised to re-initialize the system by doing a factory reset, deleting, and then reinstalling the setup. After doing this several times I became reasonably adept at the process, but it did shake my confidence that the Formations would perform consistently. The sheer speed of the bass from the B&W DB1D is almost surreal, and means that despite being a large subwoofer, with massive cones, you can easily pair it with the smallest pair of bookshelf speakers you can find, and the transition will still be seamless. Usually, big-coned subwoofers work best with big-coned floorstanding speakers.

Bowers & Wilkins and Dali are somewhat similar in my opinion. I ended up with Bowers & Wilkins speakers, although with a different budget (S702 S2 and HTM71 S2). No considerable regrets yet, though I have sometimes been jealous of a buddy's Klipsch setup with their dynamic range.

I have decided to upgrade to floor-standing speakers from bookshelves instead. I am considering buying the new 2019 Bowers & Wilkins 603. According to B&W the recommended amp power for these speakers is 30W-200W at 8 ohm unclipped. I currently own a Marantz PM-5005 integrated amp generating 40W per channel at 8 ohm.

My car came with the Harman Kardon system. I purchased replica bowers and wilkins speakers from AliExpress. I got the entire set 16 speakers in total. So far I've replaced the rear window shelf mid range and tweeters, rear door mid-range, I wasn't too sure about replacing the tweeters in the rear doors with the door handles.
